Today’s sloppy sketches with crappy paper and pencils:
Random critters
The Sheep that Killed Bo Peep. Why do my bendy prison bars look like a vag? And the sheep is being propelled….oh man, jeezus, no, my mind just went there. Goddam vag bars.
Cosmic Fauna
Practice fun with hardcore angles, perspective, and foreshortening: Free tattoos with coupon. Please do not attempt to make hipster Cal smile….
Some fanart I’m exercising with based on SL Viehl’s Stardoc series.
25 min Wash sketch.
I should do more quickie portraits/studies for practice. This one didn’t come out too bad, and they’re challenging and relaxing. I also like working with a loose sketch line
I haven’t drawn anything substantial in roughly 2 weeks. It’s amazing how much art can evolve, devolve, or subtly change in such a small time frame. The left heads don’t feel as robust, accurate, and confident, and need the most work, but I chalk that up primarily to not having been used to working digitally. Incredulous needs some thunking around, too.

This is how I feel every single day….
So that means either like a multi-brush palette, The Thing, or a rotting wannabe Picasso-perspective canine.
Decided to scrap David’s pose and re-do it, and now much more pleased with the poses. Except for the fixing of the calves and hand on Von, and the addition of David’s computer-prop thing that shall occur toward the end, I think I’m all set with this part of the piece.
The daily evolving process of this composition is getting almost comical.
Next: background time
When I’m having a bad art day, I think to myself: well, least I ain’t drawing quite this bad anymore.
Deacon Silvey from Caitlyn R. Kiernan’s novels, 2003
quickie of Rufferto’s character Sho from the comic Vox
Breaking my new Wacom in. I definitely need some practice, and I’m not feeling the most inspired right now, but not bad.
I didn’t think my attempt at a short animation would work out well. And in some ways, it didn’t. However, I did achieve a successful animatic, which is a step in the right direction. If I work on understanding in-betweens and filling in the blanks, I could probably do an animated short. Really short, though, considering it took around an hour or more to do just these few seconds
