Meant to be a 4-picture series, completely on the nearly out of character dark side, possibly making some deeper point, and generally quickie pose practices (unfortunately i can’t remember what pics i ref’ed for them) i did some months back. But there’s quite a bit of artistic progress in them.
Besides, I’m just a big freakin’ NSFL pervert, and it’s only inevitable I draw shit like this.
What the hell happened to their hair in the second pose, though. Yeesh.
posting these separately for detail
Happy holidays, whatever you might celebrate!
Quickie comic: Dirty Bird
My James Bond vil- I mean, Deeke’s character sheet, which should’ve been done a lot sooner. This guy needs his own separate family tree. And a muzzle. And a really wide berth.
2 sheets down. Captain Bosch is probably next, then Bridgitt Daine and Caleb the Rabbit, though neither have enough history to warrant much of a sheet- which doesn’t really matter in general, since I’m more interested in doing the title thingy drawings themselves. Then there’s Sian Saigh, who I never got to use past her concept stage, but may as well draw (really should be practicing drawing women more). Zach already has a sheet, but I want to re-do it, if only to give it a better illustration.
Haven’t drawn in what feels like aeons, so forced myself to stay awake and do a before bed stress relief 20 min quickie.
David looks so much more rugged and westernized with a beard. It doesn’t suit his character.
They’re all gonna laugh at you!
David’s character sheet, card, origin thing. These are really fun to make, as there’s room to get extravagant with them.
I decided to attempt color. Didn’t turn out half as bad as I feared.
I wanted the griffin and dragon to represent family crest-type animals, but I think it feels more random than anything like that.
24 Hour Comic Day: The. End.
24 Comic Day is over. My sister dropped by this weekend unexpectedly, and there was work for me today, so I only made it too 80 panels out of the suggested 100 for digital.
I’m feeling pumped that I did that many, though. My hands are killing me, my drawings were starting to look all rabid and spastic, and I’m burned out from coming up with ideas and layouts on the fly. I’ll never know how professionals keep up their pace.
I think I’m going to do this Eastman style instead of Gaiman, and continue till I hit 100 panels or it’s done. Whichever comes first. It was just getting good, and I like to finish things these days.
Goddam you, Anders, and your nifty, elaborate robe that I spent a half an hour doing detail work on alone.
Quick sketch? What’s that mean?
ps: why the hell do mages even wear robes, anyway. Are regular clothes just restrictive to the process of magic, or are they particularly flame and cold resistant, or is it something to do with the spiritual ties, or…what? I mean, when was the last time a robe was even moderately bad ass, or intimidating, or anything but close to resembling very peculiar looking pajamas. Magic classes need better outfitting. Or at least something closer to what Anders is wearing.
How do I even start thinking about these things?
I think I went a bit overboard with what was supposed to be a quick sketch.
Cluttered and mistake riddled. But it was fun.
Also surprised I’m almost done with this meme. If I don’t do something as elaborate as this for every single part, I should have it done in a day or so.
