=The Road of Excess Leads to the Palace of Wisdom=

Welcome to the re-establishment of the scientific Nazi movement.

Not only are the repercussions of this kind of genetic manipulation vs. autonomy atrocious and disgusting to think about, but somebody didn’t read the fine print about nature vs. nurture.

Genetics are only the blueprint, not destiny.  Manipulating genetics does not eliminate environmental influence, only softens the impact of it on the individual.  If our environment continues to neurologically stimulate the demand for development of these traits, they’ll re-manifest over generations if those generations are not genetically altered.  I forget the timespan outcome for trait manipulation, but humans breed at a rate that it would probably happen in under 50 years.

Put every generation born after gene manipulation in closed environments and plug them into a computer, limiting what they can access, and you won’t have your utopia then, either.  You’ll just have a bunch of depressed people with dissociative and personality disorders.

The only ethics related topic here is that life should never be controlled by anyone.   It simply can’t be to begin with.
